Bollington’s light work of run chase
BOLLINGTON’S penultimate home fixture saw them take on bottom of the table Tattenhall.
Bollington won the toss and elected to bowl first, looking to restrict the visitors to a low total.
Tattenhall started well, going past 60 after the first ten overs and were looking good for a big total.
A change in the bowling saw the first wicket fall with Plant removing Harding for 26. Joe Binder (2-47) then took two quick wickets to claw Bollington back in to the game with the scores at 72-3.
Bollington then took control of the game, with Coppack the only Tattenhall batsman adding any stability.
Plant continued his end of season form, ending with 5-27 off 15 overs, backed up by Dickinson (1-19) and Kippie (2-23) who took the final wicket of the innings as Tattenhall ended on 154.
A rain delay immediately paused proceedings, which saw Bollington require the total from a reduced 40 overs.
Bollington lost the early wicket of Heathcote for three, but several partnerships from the middle order made light work of the run chases.
H Dickinson saw the scores past 60, before losing his wicket for 35.
Kippie (18) and J Dickinson (13) added a further 30 to the score to bring Bollington to within touching distance.
Barrass (26) lost his wicket as Bollington required just 6 for victory but Horsfield (36) and Hough (5) ensured that the hosts would take the points inside just 34 overs.
