Free fitness plan is just for the girls

-

A FITNESS instructor is doing her bit to empower young women by hosting a girls only fitness project.

The free 12 week activity project includes a range of different activities for women to get involved in, with the aim to encourage girls to exercise, get fitter and boost their confidence when it comes to take part in group exercise.

Hannah Glazebrook is leading the project, which is being funded by Active Cheshire, and is open to girls aged between 14 and 25.

She said: “After working recently in pastoral at a secondary school, I noticed so many girls coming to us with anxiety, low self-esteem and stress.

“While I can’t magic these issues away, I can show how exercise can help to manage these feelings and boost confidence.

“My aim to is to try to encourage a group of girls 14-25 to enjoy exercise, boost their confidence and hopefully have fun.

“It will be a friendly, supportive group. We will be trying a range of different exercise formats – including aerobics, pilates, barre, circuits, padwork and more.”

Sessions take place every Wednesday evening from 6pm until 7pm.

The project, based at Macclesfield Rugby Club, begins on Wednesday, October 12 and is free for participants.

Hannah, who runs pilates and legs, bums and tums classes in Sutton and Macclesfield, will be at the Treacle Market on Sunday, September 25 if anyone has any questions about the project.

There are limited places so booking is essential. For information go to facebook.com/maccgirls can or email maccgirls can@gmail.com.
