Outdoor gym plan as fitness family celebrate anniversary

-

A FAMILY-RUN gym is aiming to create an outdoor exercise area as part of anniversary events to boost the health of Bollington residents.

Chris Rowlands and his family will have run Fitness4All for eight years in April.

To celebrate the anniversary Chris has announced a series of free fitness events over the next year including boot camps, health MOTs, free pedometers, a beginners running club and workouts.

As well as this there are plans to create an outdoor gym for use by all residents.

Chris said: “We’re passionate about people being healthier, fitter and happier and that stands whether you’re a member of Fitness4All or not.

“And our ultimate aim is to have an outdoor gym installed in the village. We have the backing and support of a number of local councillors in Bollington.

“The equipment will provide a range of cardiovascular, toning and wellbeing exercises, suitable for all ages. A recent study from Liverpool John Moores University found that people who used an outdoor gym once a week reported an increase confidence to take part in physical activity, undertook more physical activity, felt physically fitter and healthier and had better mental wellbeing.

“Keep an eye out for our pedometers at local shops. Just make a donation of at least a quid and all proceeds go towards the outdoor gym.”
