Ladies shine in the heat

- MACCLESFIELD TOWN LADIES

MACCLESFIELD Town Ladies FC U11s started their season with two fantastic performances despite fielding tight squads with no substitutes on a hot, sunny day.

The first game versus Lymm Lighting Bolts was a great attacking performance from Sylks forwards Ebony Stewart, Tatiana Pollard and Rosie Ashton.

The Sylks were dominant throughout the game and when the defence was called upon they dealt easily with anything that came their way.

Ebony Stewart was awarded girl of the match.

The second game was against stronger opposition in Vale Junior Bears.

The Sylks defence scrutinised with the goalkeeper Bailey Newns making some fine saves, the back three Beth Magin, Issy and Holly Hirst all had a great game, Holly Hirst clearing the ball from the goal line on a couple of occasions with Beth Newns getting stuck in with some strong tackling.

The Sylks had a couple of attacking chances with Tatiana Pollard at the heart of the action.

The girl of match award was split between Beth and Tatiana Pollard.

The other U11s team also played two matches, against Runcorn Linnets and Sandbach.

Two great performances resulting in two comfortable victories without conceding any goals.
