THE deadline for the North East Cheshire Business Awards has been extended to ensure everyone has a chance to enter.

The awards, which celebrate businesses across Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Knutsford, are a huge event on the business calendar, celebrating the best the area has to offer.

It’s organised by a group of sponsors from across the area, and led by the Chamber of Com- merce.

Sue Bowden, from the chamber, said organisers have agreed to extend the deadline after a busy Summer, giving businesses another week to get their entries in.

She said: “The September 30 deadline has crept up so quickly that we’ve extended it for just one week to ensure that everyone that wants to enter can – but the closing date really is Friday 7 October.

“This is a bonus for anyone who thought they’d run out of time so put your company name on the map and vie for a place amongst the winners this year. And don’t forget to book tickets for the fabulous Gala Dinner when the winners will be announced – it’s being held on Thursday, November 17 at The Mere Resort near Knutsford, and tickets can be booked now at www.”

The event celebrates the success, talent and all that’s great about business in the area, with categories that allow companies of all shapes and sizes to enter.

There are a total of 11 awards. As usual there are awards for the best overall businesses with categories for Business of the Year Turnover over £5 million and Business of the Year Turnover up to £5 million, plus an accolade for Entrepreneur of the Year.

There are awards for businesses that go the extra mile for customers, such as Excellence in Customer Service, and those that show extra support for their staff, with Team of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

There are also awards for Innovation and Design; Best use of Social Media; Best Design/Creative Campaign; Start Up Business of the Year and Charity of the Year, with the winning charity benefiting from becoming the benefactors of next year’s awards. The winners will be announced at a glitzy ceremony at the Mere Resort, Knutsford, on Thursday, November 17.
