Pervert is jailed after being found with child porn and nappies

A PERVERT has been jailed after he was found with hundreds of indecent images of children.

Gary Colin McVeigh, 39, was caught with 1,156 images including 51 at category A, the most serious. The remainder were 38 at category B and 1,067 at category C.

But McVeigh was also caught with a nappy on three separate occasions by police, breaching a sexual offences prevention order made in 2011 banning him from being in possession of any nappy capable of holding human waste.

He was caught in possession of the nappies on February 8, February 9 and finally on March 23.

At Chester Crown Court, McVeigh, of Hulley Road, Macclesfield, admitted a charge of possession of indecent images, three charges of making indecent images and three charges of possession of a nappy.

Recorder Patrick Thompson sentenced McVeigh to three years in prison and instructed the sexual harm prevention order to last for the rest of his life.

McVeigh was locked up for two years and eight months in 2011 after he was found with 9,400 indecent images of babies on his computer. Most were posed pictures of the lowest level of seriousness, but he also had a video clip which he admitted he had watched for sexual gratification.

The find by police revealed a sinister nappy obsession by the former St John Ambulance volunteer.

At the time Chester Crown Court heard that McVeigh’s obsession with sexual images of children started in 2003. Sentencing Judge Elgan Edwards had branded him a pervert and said he presented ‘a significant risk to young children’.
