Let’s build on forward momentum: Lewis

- SHELDAN KEAY

MACCLESFIELD Town midfielder Paul Lewis has urged his side to continue their good run of form over the coming weeks.

The Silkmen have moved up to third in the National League table after winning six of their last seven games, leaving them just one point behind league leaders Dagenham and Redbridge.

Their last win saw them pick up a 1-0 victory over North Ferriby United, and Lewis insists the side is full of belief at the moment.

”It’s still early doors but obviously it’s great to be up there now, and it gives all the boys confidence and hopefully we’ll be up there come the end of the season,” he told the club’s official website.

“Hopefully we can keep getting three points and we can keep this form going and see where it takes us.”

Lewis scored a goal for Macclesfield during their 3-0 victory over Wrexham last week, and he was delighted to get on the scoresheet in that fixture.

“I haven’t scored one in a while, so I thought it was nice to get one. Obviously it’s been put on a plate for me but it’s nice to score it,” he said.

“It was a good performance. We needed that win against Wrexham after losing the last home game 1-0, so it was good to get the points on the board.”

Lewis began his career at Macclesfield back in 2013, and has gone on to make over 70 appearances for the club during his time at the Moss Rose.
