Theo brings Twitter delight to bear firm

-

A COMPANY that turns outgrown children’s clothes into teddies has received a business boost from entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

The Dragons Den investor selected Macclesfield-based Titchy – maker of luxury Keepsake Bears – to be one of six weekly winners to be retweeted to his 500,000 Twitter followers during ‘Small Business Sunday’, or #SBS.

The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, provides support and awareness for small businesses across the UK.

Jane Hext, owner of Titchy who also has her own clothing line, entered the competition by tweeting Theo about her business.

Theo retweeted Jane Hext’s message to his almost 500,000 followers and as a result titchy.net has been inundated with enquiries and interest in the unique keepsake bears. Jane said: “It’s a dream come true. Theo made my year when he chose Titchy to join his #SBS family earlier this week.

“It’s one of the most prestigious small business awards you can win and it is such as honour to be recognised by such an inspirational and successful businessman for my hard work and vision for Titchy. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved and I think I’ll be smiling forever.”

Theo Paphitis said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight how important it is to support our small businesses.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website and Shop #SBS will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Titchy every success.”
