Are you work­ing on any pro­duc­tions at the mo­ment?: No, just fin­ished Six by Tenn. How long have you been with the so­ci­ety for?: Since 2000. How did you en­ter this role?: I was chair­man for four years and after that I be­came bar and events man­ager. What are you re­spon­si­ble for?: The bar: re­stock­ing, money for the till, pa­per­work. Events – mak­ing a so­cial cal­en­dar of events for the mem­bers and pro­duc­ing those events for the mem­bers. What do you most en­joy about do­ing this?: Peo­ple tell me how much they have en­joyed an event while it is still hap­pen­ing. What have been your high­lights so far while do­ing this?: Our an­nual end of sea­son BBQ is my favourite event, bouncy cas­tle strictly for adults, loads of fun. What is your favourite place in Mac­cles­field?: Our theatre on Lord Street, a ter­race street with lots of char­ac­ter. Do you have any favourite theatre pro­duc­tions?: At our theatre, Pocket Dream 2006 and London As­sur­ance 2011. Pro­fes­sion­ally, The Tem­pest at RSC 1978, Boe­ing Boe­ing in London 2004. What are you read­ing at the mo­ment?: Re-read­ing Terry Pra­chett’s Diskworld se­ries, the new Jack Reacher book. What or who is your big­gest inspiration?: At our theatre, try­ing to be as good as the pro­fes­sion­als and we are not paid! Many pro­fes­sional ac­tors I look up to, Derek Ja­cobi, Judi Dench.
