Girls are ‘secret agents’ as author hides best-seller
A FAMILY of booklovers helped a best-selling children’s author with a project aimed at sharing the joy of reading.
Nathan Kift encouraged fans of his book Harry the Happy Mouse to secrete seven copies in seven secret locations in England.
One of them was hidden somewhere in Macclesfield town centre by Jan Riley, whose three girls Scarlett, Sienna and Sylva – who all attend Ivy Bank primary school – are fans of the book.
Jan said: “My girls really enjoyed playing secret agents for Harry Mouse.
“Inside the book is a handwritten note from the author that encourages the finder to read it, enjoy it then pass it on.”
The book was hidden beneath the Christmas Tree in Market Place on November 29.
It was found the following day by Paul Derbyshire who has since passed it on to another reader.
Harry the Happy Mouse is a story of friendship and encourages children to be helpful and kind to one another.
Jan, who lives at Broken Cross, said: “The story also carries a pay it forward message.
“It is in this spirit that the books are left.” RECENT cases heard at South and East Cheshire Magistrates Court:
