Perel joins the ranks at the Moss

MACCLESFIE­LD Town have made a new addition to their team after signing German midfielder Omry Perel.

The 22-year-old was an unused substitute in the Macc squad during their 2-1 defeat to Bromley at the Moss Rose in the National League on Saturday.

The midfielder can be used either in a central role or on the left-hand side, and will wear the number 27 shirt during his time with the club.

He was also with Maccabi Tel Aviv as a youngster.

nearby rivals Altrincham in the FA Trophy as the Express went to print on Tuesday, and manager John Askey may have given him his debut.

“I think one or two of the lads need a breather, especially some of the older players, so we’ll see what everyone’s like during training and see who can play and who can’t,” Askey told the club’s official website ahead of the match.

“We’d like to change it up a bit but we’ve only got 18 players in the squad so it’s not the easiest, but the ones we know who need a rest we’ll try and give them a breather.”
