‘Inspiring’ head gets top mark
A HEADTEACHER has been praised by a school watchdog.
Manny Botwe, headteacher at Tytherington School, was described as ‘inspirational, approachable and energetic’ by parents during an inspection by Ofsted.
The Ofsted report said the school was ‘good’ and that the leadership team had continued to maintain a high quality of education throughout the school.
In the inspector’s report, Jonathan Smart said: “The senior leadership team have created a positive culture and driven rapid change across the school.
“Staff, parents and pupils welcome the new climate of change and innovation.”
Praise was also given to the culture and learning environment at the school.
“The report also spoke highly of Tytherington’s Sixth Form and ExtraCurricular Facilities, but claimed that it still needed to improve the progress made by disadvantaged students.
Headteacher Emmanuel Botwe said: “I would like to assure parents, students and the local community, that I intend to focus all my efforts to ensure that we stay hungry and committed to continuous improvement.
“I would also like to offer my heartfelt thanks to the students, parents, staff, governors and the local community who all work so hard to make Tytherington School such a special place.”
