Dudley’s sights on promotion push

- SHELDAN KEAY

MACCLESFIELD Town striker Anthony Dudley hopes to help the team reach the play-offs during his time at the Moss Rose.

The 21-year-old made the switch to Macc on loan until the end of the season as part of the deal that saw Jack Mackreth leave for Bury.

He has impressed for the Silkmen so far, and got his first goal for them during the FA Trophy victory against AFC Sudbury.

Dudley is now hoping to kick on from there, and is setting a target of finishing in the play-off places at the end of the season.

“I’m delighted to be here and get some games under my belt. Hopefully we can achieve the play-offs. It’s a good club and a good team,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s been a good start for me, but that’s all it is – a start.

“I need to continue to work hard and get some more game time to show the lads what I can do.

“It’ll be hard for places. I’ve trained with the lads for a couple of weeks, there’s some really good players but I work hard and hopefully I can get in the team.

“I know the league quite a bit so I know what I’m capable of. I had a good time with Guiseley but I’m hoping for an even better time here.”

Dudley had two previous loan spells at Guiseley before making the switch to Macc, making a total of 16 combined appearances and scoring seven goals.
