Mack delighted to be back in the Macc fold

-

JACK Mackreth insists it feels like he has never left the club after returning to Macclesfield Town on loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old left the club back in January to sign for League One side Bury, but will now spend the next couple of months back at the Moss Rose.

He played in the 1-1 draw against Gateshead last Tuesday, and Mackreth said he was happy to make his return.

“I’m glad to be back. I know the lads, the manager, the fans, so I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s good to be back and it doesn’t feel like I’ve been away to be honest,” he told the club’s official website.

“I came back to training and everyone was made up, I was happy to be back and it’s just nice to get rewards for training every day.

“I know the lads, the manager and the fans, so I’m looking forward to it and I’m glad to be back.

“It was a tough game against Gateshead, they were set up well defensively.

“I haven’t played in a few weeks so it was good to get some match fitness but we’re disappointed we didn’t get the three points.

“In the first-half we were creating a few chances and we should’ve capitalised on it.

“We’ll take a point but we’d have liked to have taken three to help chase the pack above us.

“John’s got the important goal and they were dominating at that moment in time and I think if it carried on like that we might not have got anything from the game.”

Mackreth made 115 appearances during his previous two spells at Macclesfield, but found opportunities limited at new club Bury, playing just three times since making the switch to the JD Stadium earlier this year.
