Mayor thanks youth groups
THE MAYOR held a special breakfast to give thanks to church-related youth initiatives in the community.
Macclesfield mayor Coun Alift HarewoodJones hosted the Prayer Breakfast at Macclesfield Town Hall, attended by MP David Rutley, headteachers, church groups and representatives from Macclesfield Town Council and Cheshire East Council. It was held to give thanks and pray for community initiatives that help young people and their families.
Mr Rutley works closely with several of the organisations that were recognised at the breakfast, including Just Drop-In, an organisation that offers support and counselling to young people in Macclesfield and surrounding areas, and Cre8, a group for young people on the Moss estate.
Mr Rutley said: “The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast brings together groups that are moving important initiatives forward in the local area, and provides an opportunity to both hear more about their progress and celebrate their achievements.
“Once again, it was good to have the opportunity to attend, and I would like to thank Coun Harewood-Jones for hosting such a positive and engaging event.”
