Broadcasting to the North-East Cheshire area since 2004 on 102.8FM from our media centre in Bollington, Canalside Radio is dedicated to serving our area with not only the best and most varied music selections you’ll hear anywhere.

We continue our look at the presenters who entertain you on 102.8FM and today it’s the turn of the fabulous Fay Armstrong. From Guyana (via London)... Fay’s love of radio started in 1974, opening Tony Blackburn’s post! She worked at the London Palladium, Anglia TV, and the fashion house Windsmoor before moving to Cheshire in 1984 where she developed her career in PR. Fay is, on air, at least twice a week, usually prerecorded as she’s always travelling. ‘Sonic Stirfry’ is a musical melting pot on Tuesday evening and the ‘Fabuluss Fifties’ series is a must on Sunday afternoon if you enjoy the many musical styles that flourished in that decade; Fay’s clear, relaxed style complements the sounds,as she gives an insight into the music, songwriters and composers featured; all selected from her own music.
