Bright future for community pub

-

STAFF and customers have celebrated a relaunch of a community pub.

The Spinner’s Arms in Bollington is a popular community pub which runs events for residents and supports local causes with fundraising activities.

It has undergone a £206,000 refurbishment with improved facilities and a new menu.

The team welcomed MP David Rutley for a relaunch event at the Palmerston Street pub.

The refurbishment includes a redecoration, new furniture, fixtures and fittings and the installation of a modern kitchen.

The ladies and gents’ facilities have been refreshed, and the outdoor drinking area given a makeover including a stone patio and covered pergola area with seating, heating and lighting.

Adam Colebatch has been running the Spinners Arms with his fiancée Katie Leighton for four years and said he is delighted with the pub’s new look.

Adam said: “It’s great to see Punch investing in the Spinners Arms.

“We are now able to offer an improved pub experience for our customers including a small premium snack menu featuring burgers and nibbles perfect for informal dining with friends and family.

“We’ve had some great feedback and we’d like to thank David and council dignitaries for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit us.”

The Spinners Arms has pool and darts teams and during the summer Adam and his team organise outdoor events for customers in the beer garden such as music festivals, as well as celebra- – tions for occasions throughout the year, such as Easter.

Macclesfield MP David Rutley said: “It’s fantastic to see this great local pub getting the investment it deserves and I am sure that the local residents will welcome its relaunch.

“The staff at the Spinners Arms have worked hard to make this pub a real community asset and I wish them the best of luck for the future.”

Aimee Moss, openings manager for Punch which runs the pub, said: “The Spinners Arms is perfectly located at the heart of Bollington village and has built a reputation for itself as a true community pub.

“Our investment will give the pub a fresh new look while retaining its welcoming atmosphere.

“Adam and his team offer great customer service and I’m confident they will make the most of the investment.”
