Charity team celebrates top award success
A TEAM at a charity are celebrating after it was named Employer of the Year.
The Rossendale Trust prides itself on being a great place to work and ensuring employees have job satisfaction.
And now the team at the Sutton-based charity, which supports adults with learning disabilities, have an award to prove it.
The organisation won Employer of the Year at the East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce awards, which celebrate success in business in the borough.
The award was presented to members of the management team of the trust at the event at Cranage Hall on April 7.
CEO Steve Nichols, Denise Riddell and Sue Heaven were among the representatives of the charity who attended to collect the award on the night.
Steve Nichols, trust CEO, said: “It’s a great honour for our charity to be selected for this award by the chamber.
“These are tough times for all charities.
“To be sustainable we need to be doing everything we can to recognise and reward the great staff that we employ.
“We are very proud to accept this award on behalf of all of the trust.
“This award means a lot to us and helps us to attract fantastic employees and reward our current staff.”
And it was a double win for the charity on the night as it was presented with a cheque for £8,115 from chamber chief executive David Watson and chamber director Jackie Randles.
Rossendale has been the chamber’s chosen charity of the year for 2016-17.
The Rossendale Trust, on Hollin Lane, provides supported living to adults with learning and physical disabilities, in purpose built apartments in Sutton and Macclesfield, as well as running activities for its users.
