Chestergate jeweller’s PR backing club’s onfield gems
Olly Smith and Andy Moores brought Macc back into the game.
When Smith departed for a brilliant 46, Moores continued with attacking intent and didn’t panic when two more wickets fell, leaving the score on 116-6.
Brother, Mitch, then came to the crease and supported Andy admirably, as the pair added 48 to ensure Macc won by four wickets with plenty of overs to spare.
Andy finished on a match-winning 74 not out, as Macc take 25 points, to Alderley’s 6. MACCLESFIELD Cricket Club is delighted to announce Chestergate based local watchmaker and jeweller PR Jones as a major sponsor for the next three years.
Proprietors Micky and David, and their mother Greeba and late father Philip, have for many years been active supporters of the club and regular visitors to Victoria Road.
Micky commented: ‘The family have had many enjoyable times watching cricket at Macclesfield but we feel, as a local business, it is important to support our local teams. Sponsoring both the seniors and the very active junior section just seems the right thing to do.”
Micky recently went to the club to seal the arrangement with club chairman Simon Griffiths and Club president Roger Moss and then met the first and second teams, who were both playing at home. Simon thanked PR Jones for their commitment and faith in the club and looked forward to a successful partnership.
