Cab­i­net shake-up

CHESHIRE East has had a cab­i­net reshuf­fle and cre­ated an­other post mean­ing there will be now be 10 port­fo­lio hold­ers at an ex­tra cost of £13,500 a year to the coun­cil tax payer.

The new post – cab­i­net mem­ber of demo­cratic and pub­lic en­gage­ment, as­sur­ance and ICT – goes to Coun Peter Groves, who was pre­vi­ously cab­i­net mem­ber for fi­nance. Coun Liz Durham, who rep­re­sents Bro­ken Cross and Up­ton, will no longer be the port­fo­lio holder for chil­dren and fam­i­lies, with Coun Ge­orge Hayes tak­ing on the role.

An­other new face is coun­cil­lor Liz Ward­law who be­comes cab­i­net mem­ber for health. These new cab­i­net posts were due to be an­nounced at to­day’s (Wed­nes­day) meet­ing of the full coun­cil. The rest of the cab­i­net re­mains the same.
