Ker­ridge kick­start the sea­son with first win

AF­TER two weeks of dis­ap­point­ing re­sults Ker­ridge recorded their first win of the sea­son with a con­vinc­ing win over Hart­ford at Clarke Lane.

Win­ning the toss, the hosts opted to bowl first hop­ing for help from the over­cast con­di­tions.

With pace and bounce coming from a firm pitch Hart­ford strug­gled against the open­ing bowl­ing attack, los­ing wick­ets al­most im­me­di­ately, Adam Banks (4/30) claimed four quick wick­ets to leave the vis­i­tors 23/4 off 15 overs.

Alex Grimes (3/23) paired with John Grayston (1/23) saw to the mid­dle or­der be­fore Carl Ry­der af­ter 14 overs of no re­ward claimed a fi­nal wicket of the in­nings to see Hart­ford fin­ish on 117/9 from their 45 overs.

By the time Ker­ridge bat­ted the sun had come out and they’d made 32 be­fore the loss of Banks (24) edg­ing to slip off Gopal (1/53).

Two fur­ther wick­ets then fell with the score on 59, Alan Har­bige (16), and Josh Cap­per (13) both fall­ing LBW to Praveen (2/28) and Dil­worth (1/38) to of­fer some hope to the vis­i­tors but Luke Wild in at five starred with the bat pun­ish­ing any­thing short or loose and had got his side within four runs of vic­tory be­fore be­ing bowled by Praveen for 46.

John Grayston and Ste Re­gan saw Ker­ridge home in­side the 32nd over , fin­ish­ing on 120/4 to record a well de­served six wicket vic­tory.

Ker­ridge now have to travel to Frod­sham on Satur­day with re­newed con­fi­dence in their game.
