Hairspray raises the bar
AUDIENCES flocked to see the latest performance from Bollington’s hugely popular amateur dramatics group.
Bollington Light Opera Group (BLOG) performed the high energy show ‘Hairspray’ to six sell-out audiences at Bollington Civic Hall.
Diane McIntyre, who directed the show with Matthew Gratton, said: “The show has been a massive undertaking, but all our cast showed tremendous commitment and did themselves proud, supported by our wonderful production team.”
Matthew added: “Our lead actors rose to the challenge superbly, and the chorus added incredible vitality. What a week it has been!”
The production tells the story of how a star-struck young girl beat discrimination in America in the 1960s.
BLOG’s next production will be their annual cabaret-style production ‘Showtime’, which includes a hot pot supper, in November.
