Knockout day for team
A FUNDRAISING event at the Moss Rose has been hailed a knockout success raising more than £45,000.
Competitors from the town’s Co-op food stores including Jim Haywood; Jake Longdon; Paul Griffin, Chris Salt; Kyle Fenton, Vikki Thomas, Lucy Lawlor and Paul Bramwell took on food suppliers to raise funds for Unicef UK.
More than 100 competitors took part in the ‘It’s a Knockout’ experience, which saw them tackling the giant inflatables, water slides and obstacle courses.
At the home of Macclesfield Town FC, the team from Co-op food stores in Macclesfield hosted competitors from a range of the retailer’s suppliers.
Rob Heywood, from the Co-op, said: “This is our third annual ‘It’s a Knockout’ event and once again we are delighted with the response from colleagues and suppliers alike – the day has a great deal of fun and raised an incredible £45,000 for charity.
“The money is to be donated to Unicef UK, we were all moved by its images of children in danger and the money raised will support its work.
“I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Macclesfield Town FC and to everyone who took part.”
