Holroyd at rivals
CHRIS Holroyd has left Macclesfield Town to sign for National League rivals Wrexham.
The forward has joined the Welsh club on a one-year deal, bringing his five year association with Macclesfield to an end. He originally joined the Silkmen on loan from Preston in 2012, before then joining on a permanent basis in 2013.
Holroyd made a total of 179 league appearances for Macclesfield during his time with the club, scoring 32 goals in the process.
He was Macclesfield’s leading goalscorer during the last campaign, playing a key role and netting 14 times.
Wrexham manager Dean Keates is glad to have Holroyd, and admits that he has been a keen admirer for a while.
