Digital team challenge their comfort zones

-

TAKING time out of the office and trying something new is a great way to recharge the batteries, provide a different perspective and generate new ideas.

The team at Macclesfield digital marketing agency ClientsFirst, based on Sunderland Street, Macclesfield, have been doing just that.

2017 has been the year of trying something new and they have used the region for inspiration.

The aim of the team’s half day creatives has been to try something new that would put them out of their comfort zone.

It started back in December when office manager Paula Fletcher, and head of website development, Chris Brown, decided to do something a little claustrophobic and journeyed to neighbouring Matlock to go caving. The thought of confined spaces had most certainly never been appealing.

They ended the morning ‘Muddy, physically and mentally tired but so very proud of ourselves. And do you know what? I would love to do it all again!’

Account executive Lizzie Galley chose to take to the slopes at Chill Factore – a daunting experience for someone who declares she has little co-ordination. But Lizzie conquered the beginners lesson and is already keen to get the boots back on. She said: “I definitely enjoyed my experience. The facilities were great and I would love to go back to complete more lessons and add other skills to my kitbag.”

Copywriter Lindsey Russell, chose a different form of creativity in the form of glass fusing that would certainly put to the challenge her fear of anything arty.

A morning’s workshop in Holmes Chapel, run by Patricia Lee, introduced Lindsey to the world of contemporary mosaic and glass art.

She said: “It was great to have the opportunity to try something totally different and I was pleasantly surprised with the finished articles.”

Project manager Gemma Bowman and digital marketing executive Matt Wood, went indoor sky diving. The opportunity to have a go at an extreme sport, down the road at iFly, was certainly something that had not previously made the bucket list.

Managing director Jon Pittham said: “I am very proud of the team for challenging their own personal boundaries. It is really important for us to give our team the chance to develop themselves, personally as well as in their career.”
