Star Izzy surprised with chant
ENGLAND football star Izzy Christiansen has been given her own chant.
Izzy, who is from Macclesfield, was surprised after being called to Wembley Stadium for what she thought was a meeting only to be played a video of the chant being sung by parents, aunties and uncles as well as school children.
The stunt was organised by England sponsors Vauxhall Motors for Izzy as well as fellow England stars Millie Bright and Toni Duggan.
Lioness Izzy said: “It was such a surprise to see my parents, aunties, uncles and cousins filmed right under my nose at Wembley Stadium – they managed to keep that one quiet! The chants are great. It’s so exciting when you hear your name on the pitch and can really change the atmosphere, so I’m hoping we get to hear them when the games begin.” Former Tytherington School pupil Izzy plays for Manchester City and was named PFA Women’s Player of the Year in 2016.
