Recorders to star at summer concert
THE Macclesfield Branch of the Society of Recorder Players will stage their fourth concert at St Peter’s Church, Prestbury as part of the Prestbury Summer Music Concerts.
‘Il flauto dolce – Music for Recorders’ takes place on Sunday, July 30, starting at 3pm, with pieces by De Vois, Purcell and Handel, as well as English madrigals and an arrangement of Henry Wood’s ‘Fantasia on British Sea Songs’.
Admission is free, with a charity collection.
Afternoon tea is available in the church rooms after the concert.
The group meets monthly at Prestbury Methodist Church typically playing 4+ part music on soprano, alto, tenor, bass and great bass recorders and welcomes new players of all abilities.
