Down memory lane
OUR nostalgia column brings you fascinating pictures taken in Macclesfield in days gone by. OUR new-look nostalgia picture spread now brings you a wide selection of old photographs each week.
We have teamed up with Macclesfield Library and Cheshire Archives and Local Studies to share old photographs from the archives and will be featuring several different images each week.
This week there are pictures from the early 20th century of children near West Park’s bowling green, the Cat Fiddle Inn and Bollington War Memorial. Readers can spot the differences between the locations today.
Explore old books, maps and newspapers at Macclesfield Library, Jordangate, SK10 1EE or visit archives.cheshire.gov. uk. We would love to hear your memories relating to any of the pictures we share over our pages. If you have additional information on the pictures featured today, please contact staff at the Cheshire Image Bank by visiting www. cheshireimagebank.org. uk and clicking on ‘Can you help?’
