Tyrone keen to fire up
TYRONE Marsh admits that he can’t wait to get started after sealing his move to Macclesfield Town ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Marsh featured for The Silkmen in the pre-season friendly with Derby County on Saturday and the confirmation of his signing was revealed shortly afterwards.
Now, with his future sorted, Marsh revealed that he is looking forward to playing alongside his new team-mates.
“I can’t wait to get started,” he said.
“We’ve got a good team, a good stadium and I’m looking forward to the season to start.
“It’s been a tough preseason for me and I have been training elsewhere, but I wanted to come to Macclesfield and now it’s sorted I’m delighted with the way it’s turned out. Like I say, I can’t wait to get going now.”
Marsh, who was introduced by manager John Askey at half-time during the game against The Rams, also acknowledged the impressive perfor- mance by his side on the day.
“I thought we did well in both halves, especially the first.
“We have to remember they (Derby) are a Championship side and aiming to reach the Premier League. For that reason alone, I think we did well.
“It’s clear to see that all the lads stick together and they like to play football. They are very good on the ball. The style of football they play here is a nice change at this level, but a very good change.
“Everyone wants to play football and I think it’s a big reason why I’ll enjoy this year.”
Macc have also signed former Chester midfielder Elliott Durrell on a twoyear deal.
