Division One / Two Cross Divisional – July 30: Ashton-on-Mersey 52 (31.4; Mina Khatun 18, Emma Barlow 3-8, Olivia Horsfield 2-8, Laura Jackson 2-14) (9pts) Appleton dnb (13pts)

THIS was the league’s first no result match of the year, with rain depriving Appleton of the chance to complete the win, after they had ripped through the Ashton line-up.

Appleton and Chester face each other next week, and with both teams having lost just two matches to date, the winners could be in the box seat for the league title.

Division Three – July 26: Chester Boughton Hall 2nd XI v Lymm Oughtrington Park – match tied with both teams scoring 85 runs, 15 pts each, no further details available at present

THIS was the first meeting of the season between the two sides without a victory, and this tied match means that both are still searching for a win, but also of course that neither will end the season with a blank record.

This is the fourth tied match of the year in CWCL competitions.

July 30 - Didsbury 2nd XI 155-3 (30; Lucy Smith 93, Hannah Marshall 28, Laura Wilson 2-18) (25pts) Hawarden Park 44 (18; Christina Ryan 2-4, Tasneem Akram 2-7, Millie Frost 2-10) (2pts)

LUCY Smith made the highest division three score of the season, but fell seven short of a century, as Didsbury ran out comfortable winners.

Stockport Georgians 103-5 (20; Nicole Baker-Tunney 29, Beth Garnett 20*, Beth Nicholson 2-14) (25pts) Chester Boughton Hall 2nd XI 74-3 (20; Nicholson 39*) (7pts)

ANOTHER solid performance which extends Georgians’ winning run.
