Amelia, 16, has blonde locks chopped for cause

-

A KINDHEARTED teenager has chopped off her hair for charity.

Amelia Naden, from Prestbury, had seven inches of her long hair lopped as part of a fundraising effort for East Cheshire Hospice.

The 16-year-old has now donated the locks to the Little Princess Trust, which makes children’s wigs for those having lost their hair through cancer.

Her original target was £70, the equivalent of £10 for every inch.

The event raised a whopping £413 for the hospice.

Amelia said: “I decided to have a 18cm haircut all in the aid of raising money for East Cheshire Hospice.

“I’ve had the privilege of meeting and playing the flute and piano for the remarkable people at the hospice who care for patients who suffer from life limiting illnesses. At a time of emotional difficulty, they ensure that the patient and their family are their priority, and create an uplifting and reassuring environment. They provide to one’s wishes, whether it being a musical performance or bringing in dogs, cats and ponies.”

Amelia had her haircut at Cabello Hair in Wilmslow.
