Pink ladies coffee event

-

A WOMAN who was diagnosed with breast cancer is raising money for the hospital ward which cared for her.

Nicki Newbigging, 42, is in the clear after being treated for breast cancer at Macclesfield Hospital. She and her friends ran a coffee morning last year to raise an impressive £4,300 for the Macmillan unit at the hospital.

And now the group, who have named themselves the Pink Ladies, are back to raise more money for the centre, with another coffee morning coming up.

The friends involved are Nicky Makepeace, Anna Whitelaw, Fay Walton, Rebecca Lowther, Rachel Fregapane, Rachel Newton, Chrissy Nadin, Emma Nadin, Emma Tyrie and Tracey Palmer.

Nicki, a mum of three from Buxton Road, said: “With the outstanding care I was given I felt I wanted to do something to help. Our coffee morning was a huge success last year and this year we’re back. We’ve been busy finding raffle prizes from local businesses.”

The Grand Macmillan Coffee Morning is on Saturday, September 30 from 11am to 1pm at Senior Citizens Hall, Duke Street Macclesfield

Tickets cost £5 from Nicki on 07966 499897.
