Stove firm is on move into bigger premises
ASTOVE company is going from strength to strength with a new, bigger premises.
The Cheshire Stove Shop has relocated from its original premises on Sunderland Street to a new, larger unit on Hulley Road.
Owner Martyn Heywood, who worked as a stove fitter before branching out on his own and opening the shop, says the decision to go solo was the ‘best he ever made’, and the new unit is an example of the firm’s ongoing success.
Martyn, 37, who lives in Macclesfield with his wife Jennifer and two year old son Will, said: “It’s been hard work, I’ve put my life savings into the project.
“We’ve saved for two years and got ourselves a business loan, so it’s a big step, but early indications are that it’s been the right decision.
“We’ve already started winning a lot of deals we wouldn’t have been con- sidered for before.”
Martyn, a former Fallibroome High School student, said the shop makes more business sense because it remains consistent over the summer, when the fitting service sees a drop in trade due to the weather.
He said the bigger premises - which has plenty of parking and a warehouse and showroom - will continue to build on the trade and take advantage of the pop- ularity of wood burning stoves.
He added: “We have spent the last six months building a state of the art new showroom on Sunrise Business Park near AstraZeneca, and I have taken on three more Macclesfield residents to take our team to seven.
“We are now displaying more than 40 different appliances in our new showroom, 16 of which are connected live so customers can see them burning and really get a feel for what they could be buying. We are very happy to have secured dealerships with some of the very best manufacturers in the industry.”
He added: “Stoves are the desirable option at the moment, and you are no longer limited to this little black box in the corner any more, there are far more to choose from, there’s lots of exciting stuff out there, so that’s where a showroom comes in.”
