A COFFEE morning at the United Reformed Church will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

The charity event will be held at the Park Green church on Friday, September 29, from 10am until midday.

There will also be a raffle and various stalls selling goods in aid of the charity.

AGE UK is hosting a special event to help raise awareness of fraud and how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.

The fraud awareness event will be held on Monday, October 16, at the New Horizons Centre in Macclesfie­ld.

Informatio­n around the types of fraud, prevention and support for people who have fallen victim will be available.

Damon Taylor, chief executive at Age UK Cheshire East said: “This event will offer local residents the chance to learn about scams, how to avoid them and stay safe.

“We’re urging people to come along, increase their knowledge and share the informatio­n with others.

“We’re delighted to be working with RBS in Macclesfie­ld who will deliver this important session, teaching older people about the tricks and tactics scammers use to try and steal people’s money.”

The session runs from 10.15am until 11.30am.
