CHESHIRE FOOTBALL LEAGUE ONE AFC MACCLESFIELD . 7 WINDLE LABOUR........ 0

AFC Macclesfield were dominant winners on Saturday after an extremely impressive victory at home to Windle Labour.

Newly promoted Windle were champions of Cheshire League Two last season and were hopeful of getting a result, but unfortunately for them, Macclesfield put out a strong team at All Hallows and were determined to continue their winning ways, having won their last three games on the trot.

It only took four minutes for Macclesfield to get their first goal with a well worked move involving Scott Wright, who crossed the ball from the wing to Jack Bannister who placed the ball into the back of the Windle net.

After 12 minutes, Macclesfield piled more pressure on the visitors when Nathan Jackson scored a well worked team goal to make it 2-0.

Macclesfield continued to play some good football and it was inevitable that more goals would follow and in the 20th minute, Jack Hunter was denied a goal scoring chance when he was brought down in the Windle penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot, and captain Jack Disney did the honours to make it 3-0.

Ten minutes later, the ref was again pointing to the spot after Banister was fouled in the Windle penalty area and Disney stepped up to claim his second goal and Macclesfield’s fourth goal.

Windle came out for the second half determined to improve on their disastrous first half and started to play some good football but they still couldn’t compete against the quality of Macclesfield as they started to dominate the game again.

On 60 minutes, Bannister was on the score sheet again, outpacing the Windle defence to claim his second and Macclesfield’s fifth.

On 70 minutes, player manager Ed Haslam joined the fray for his first appearance of the season and after just five minutes on the pitch, found himself one on one with the Windle keeper and calmly slid the ball under him to make it 6-0 for Macclesfield.

In the 82nd minute, Bannister finished a great performance by claiming his third goal of the game.

It was a great performance by all of the Macclesfield squad, and therefore was difficult to pick out a man of the match with every player playing his part in what was a fantastic result.

Particular credit must go to 17 year old Callum Evans, playing in his first season for Macclesfield, producing a fine performance in midfield.
