CANALSIDE 102.8 FM

- BRIAN MOORES

THE successes of the UK’s growing not-forprofit radio sector were celebrated at the second annual Community Radio Awards in Bristol on Saturday, September 23.

We are proud to announce that Canalside Radio 102.8FM was presented with a gold award for the 2017 Best Male Presenter in Mark Blackman, and a bronze award for the 2017 Sage Person of the Year in Trish Napier.

The announcement was made at a packed awards ceremony following the 2017 Community Media Conference.

These awards follow on from the North West positive action award that we won in 2011/12 which recognised our work with young people and people with disabilities.

Canalside station manager Nick Wright, alongside many of the other hard-working volunteers at the radio station, will really cherish not only getting gold but a bronze too for the Sage award and the work the station has done over the years to include the more mature residents of North East Cheshire.

For more information and how you can support your local community station call Canalside on 01625 576689 or email office@ canalsideradio.net.

We are currently looking for volunteers who may have a few spare hours a week to help support our current team of volunteers.

If you feel you would like to get involved either call in to see us at our studios in Clarence Mill, Bollington, or make contact via either the email address or telephone number above.
