Online safety talk
PARENTS, guardians and teachers are invited to a free talk about keeping children safe online.
The Online Safety Conference is being held at Beech Hall School today (Wednesday, October 11) as part of their ongoing series of conferences about children’s wellbeing.
The event, held at the Tytherington-based school, will run from 6pm to 8pm, exploring the dangers of social media for children and advising parents what they can do to safeguard their children.
Speaker Peter Wanless is CEO at the NSPCC and brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the safety of children.
James Allen, headteacher at Beech Hall, said: “The continuing evolution of social media is posing more dangers for children and we believe that knowledge of online safety for pupils, parents and guardians is essential. Our previous conferences on pertinent subjects such as mental health and dyslexia have been a huge success.
“The feedback we have had is that it is a great way to raise awareness and share best practice, particularly with the high-calibre of speakers that have participated. We are looking forward to welcoming Peter and continuing to highlight important matters within the local community.”
