‘Major brand’ sign-up claim

-

GROSVENOR Centre bosses stated a ‘major fashion brand’ has signed for half of the space in the new extension - but did not reveal who it is.

Bosses from Eskmuir which runs the shopping centre issued a statement to be read at the MiM meeting about the expansion into the former Cheshire Building Society which has been demolished apart from its facade.

John Sullivan, from Eskmuir, said: “The extension is due for completion in spring.

“A major national fashion retailer has committed to taking a lease of half of the new space and discussions are being advanced with other retailers on the remaining accommodation.

“The unit facing Castle Street is being targeted for restaurant use.

“All the demolition and ground works are now largely complete and so residents and local businesses will now start to see the extension begin to take shape.

“The retained Post Office frontages onto Castle Street and Churchill Way are now behind a scaffold so that the stonework, ironwork and windows can be repaired and decorated.”
