Nursery’s birthday gift to charity
A NURSERY has raised £600 for charity in celebration of its 15th birthday.
Footprints Day Nursery, in Macclesfield, held an open day in celebration of the 15-year milestone, where staff from both Macclesfield and Bollington branches took part in running the stalls, raising money for the Winston’s Wish child bereavement charity.
The charity was the first to focus on providing specialist support to children affected by bereavement.
The open day was also an opportunity for the nursery to show off a new outdoor area for the first time since it was completed.
Hayley Edge, nursery manager of the Macclesfield, said: “We are so delighted that so many families came to the Open Day. The weather didn’t disappoint either which made for an even better day. Everyone had such a wonderful time and we’re so glad that so many people came to celebrate the new outdoor area and support a charity that is very close to our hearts. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated and came to the open day and helped us raise so much money for such a worthy cause.”
