Cameras roll as Macc appears in TV drama

-

FILM crews are set to descend on Macclesfield to shoot scenes for a new TV drama starring Hollywood royalty.

Movie star Toni Collette – who starred in blockbusters such as About a Boy and Muriel’s Wedding – is among the stars of new BBC television series Wanderlust.

A letter from production company Drama Republic has been sent out to Tytherington residents warning them about planned road closures while filming takes place.

According to the letter the team will be recording an action scene where an actress will be knocked off a bike. It is not known whether Ms Collete will feature in the scenes.

To allow filming to take place Manchester Road, which will be closed from Marlborough Road to Heybridge Lane on Sunday, December 3.

Alex Tridimas, unit manager, said: “We will, on all counts, try our best to affect everybody as little as possible with our presence but appreciate that the size and nature of this scene may cause some inconveniences.

“I and my colleagues will be on hand during the shoot to sort out any problems. Access will of course be immediate for any emergency vehicles that might need to get through.”

Access will still be possible from the South entrances on Dorchester Road.

The six-part drama centres on therapist Joy Richards, played by Collette, who tries to find a way to keep her spark with her husband alive
