CANALSIDE 102.8 FM
OUR youth internet station, Canalside’s Phase One, is currently flourishing.
We have been approached by four youngsters who wish to get involved with our charitable arm and they will be trained in all aspects of radio including the opportunity to present their own shows.
A number of people who approached us at the Bollington Christmas lights switch-on event, which we hosted, complimented us on the commitment we give in providing local communities an excellent platform for them to get involved but also helping to promote good causes.
The bottle-bola and bran tub that we ran at the event were very popular and we raised a considerable amount of money which will be used to purchase new equipment that the youngsters badly need.
We have been approached by a charity that operates in Cheshire, Stockport and elsewhere in Greater Manchester that provides specialist and integrated services focusing on improving lives and communities across mental health, physical and learning disability, substance misuse, primary care and employment to see if we could team up with them and give the people they support some radio experience.
We expect to announce a partnership with the charity early in the new year.
Our 12 days of Christmas competition is in full swing and we believe that entries this year will be more than the 127 in 2016.
Take a look at the competitions page on our website www. canalsideradio.net to find out how you can enter all the competitions that we are currently running.
You will have to be quick if you want chance to win a pair of tickets to see Roland Gift, one of modern music’s true torchbearers and the charismatic frontman of the Fine Young Cannibals, who is playing the Manchester Club Academy on Saturday, December 9.
The winner’s name for this competition will be announced on Thursday, December 7.
