Two wins for creatives at awards ceremony
AMACCLESFIELD creative agency walked away with two prizes at the Greater Manchester and North Cheshire Federation of Small Business (FSB) Awards.
Media firm House Creative came out on top twice on the night, winning ‘Creative & Media Agency of the Year’ and ‘Woman Business Owner of the Year’.
Celebrating just its fifth year, the Newton Street agency beat off strong competition to win agency of the year.
The firm was commended by the judges for “…their impressive survival in a difficult market [which has] given them a firm footing. This small business looks well set for growth in the future.”
The celebrations weren’t finished there, as the agency’s managing director and co-founder, Christine Colbert, was announced as the winner of ‘Woman Business Owner of the Year’, at the glitzy ceremony, which was held at the Hilton hotel in Manchester.
Upon receiving the award, Christine, who has launched her own radio show, ‘Business Banter’, says the award means a lot to her but that it was certainly a team effort.
She said: “To double up on awards was an absolute honour for us. The business has had its most impressive 12 months, with new major clients including Water Plus, the joint venture between United Utilities and Severn Trent Water, the publishing of The National Association of Jewellers’ magazine, The Jeweller, and Kaliber Group.
“To go on and win ‘Woman Business Owner of the Year’ was the icing on the cake for me, cementing the success of the team’s consistent business strategy, getting underneath the skin of our clients’ USPs to truly understand their ethos and to deliver the best creative and marketing results. We are delighted to gain this regional recognition and thank the FSB and the judges.”
Simon Edmondson, regional chair of the FSB and judge, says the Macclesfield firm were deserved winners. He added: “This year’s event exceeded our expectations, with 160 companies entering the 23 categories, and we are delighted to be able to recognise the commitment and success of businesses such as House Creative, who were deserved winners.
“Now in its second year, the Greater Manchester and Cheshire awards have brought to the fore a diverse range of the region’s talent. We set out to encourage and promote the area’s small and medium sized fast-growing businesses through a fair and competitive points-based judging process.”
