Focus on positives says Sam
MACCLESFIELD Town goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom insists he will be focusing on the positives from his side’s goalless draw against Solihull Moors on Saturday.
The top of the table Silkmen drew 0-0 against Solihull at the Moss Rose, failing to break down their opponents despite Solihull sitting in the relegation zone.
Ramsbottom was in the Macclesfield starting line-up due to the suspension of regular goalkeeper Shwan Jalal, but he says there are good points to take from the match.
“It is a clean sheet which obviously is important, we were unfortunate because we think we could have taken something from the game and we have had chances to win the game, but most importantly we didn’t concede,” he told the club’s official website.
“It is a point and it keeps us moving forward which is what we want.
“We are unbeaten which is important, we have gone on a run of six or seven unbeaten where we are progressing and still moving forward.
“We have picked up a point, they were difficult to breakdown especially in the second half, but we have had chances. At least it is something to build on and another point on our total.”
Ramsbottom was then hoping his side would be successful when they faced Halifax as the Express went to print on Tuesday.
“We can build on that for Tuesday night against Halifax which is another big game, in the FA Trophy which we want to do as well as we possibly can in,” he said.
