£1m goal as networking group celebrates success
A BUSINESS networking group is celebrating its most successful year ever, with more than £750,000 worth of business referrals within the group.
BNI Silk of Macclesfield, a business networking group which meets at Macclesfield Golf Club every Thursday, supports members by helping their business development and teaching them how to attract new business.
At each meeting, members have the opportunity to share information about their own business and talk about new business opportunities.
This regular meeting has facilitated £756,969 worth of business referrals among the members, surpassing the group’s £750,000 goal.
Geoff Gittins, chapter president, said: “We are a really successful Chapter because we are all totally committed to supporting each other’s businesses.
“Achieving our target of business passed in 2017 was a real coup and we were all delighted. But it’s now a new year. We have a new target and I have every confidence that we will achieve it.
“We meet early in the morning before the business day begins and, despite the early hour, manage to have a laugh while getting on with the serious business of helping each other to develop our respective businesses.”
BNI also has a strong training arm, delivering invaluable business skills to members.
Targets have now been set for 2018, with BNI Silk aiming to pass £1m in referrals and recruit an additional five members, however BNI only allows one member per business sector in each local group.
