Jackpot result for thriving social club

-

PACK HORSE Bowling and Social Club has again hit the jackpot with its fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice.

The club’s popular bingo nights and raffles raised £2,225 for the charity over the last 12 months.

The Pack Horse on Abbey Road, Macclesfield, is a thriving club open seven days a week all year round.

Sharron Fawcett and Lucy Street help organise the charity fundraising after taking over a role held for many years by club stalwart June Dutton.

Like other members, Sharron is well aware of the hospice’s value within the community.

Husband Adrian, who worked at AstraZeneca, died of a brain haemorrhage seven years ago this month, aged 42.

Sharron said: “Adrian was offered the use of the hospice facilities but sadly didn’t live long enough to make it there.

“However, I’ve had relatives and friends who’ve been treated by East Cheshire Hospice and the care has been excellent.

“None of us know when we might need the service.

“The hospice does a wonderful job, our club is delighted to offer its support and we’d like to thank all our members for their kind contributions.”

The Pack Horse holds bingo each Wednesday and Sunday, with proceeds from its sessions on the last Sunday of each month donated to the hospice.

The next charity bingo night is Sunday, January 28, eyes down at 7.30pm.

New members are welcome.
