Calls for monument to Paralympic glory
APERMANENT tribute could be created in Macclesfield in honour of Menna Fitzpatrick’s Par- alympic glory. Former Fallibroome pupil Menna won four medals at the Pyeongchang games, including her country’s only gold.
Calls are growing for the incredi- ble achievements of the partially sighted skier to be honoured with a lasting tribute.
Town council bosses say plans are underway to recognise her tri- umphs, while MP David Rutley said he backed moves for a tribute and has written to Cheshire East Council to push for it.
