Village to get 4G
COMMUNICATION in a rural village is set to get much better thanks to planned improvements to the mobile phone network.
Service provider 02 is launching a 4G service in Wildboarclough.
4G is the fourth generation of mobile phone technology, and is around five times faster than 3G.
It means that users will be able to access the internet more effectively.
Derek McManus, Chief Operating Officer for Telefónica UK, which owns O2, said: “I’m delighted that O2 customers in Wildboarclough will soon be able to experience faster mobile internet making everything easier when using their phone or tablet. They’ll be able to stream high definition TV, shop on the go and use video calling. For our business customers, using 4G means they can be more effective and flexible by working remotely, accessing cloud services and collaborating using apps.”
