APPEAL after severely injured dog found dumped in a Macclesfield garden. The RSPCA suspects the Shar Pei has been used for dog fighting and then dumped to avoid vets bills (March 29) Zoe Marie Oakes: There’s been a few dog attacks in that area... in South Park which backs on to Park Lane, nearly had a child too. Maybe this dog was a victim of the same wild dog loose in the park last week. Poor Shar Pei x Angelique Mary: Gorgeous pooch, is she not tagged? Absolute disgrace poor baby, better off now. Lynn Janes: Whoever did this deserves to be treated in the same way. Nessa Cash: That little face. How can people be so cruel? Dorothy Ward: Poor darling. There are some scummy people around. Sharon Bannister: Poor thing. Serena Jones: No words. David Ronnie Lovett: Disgusting, poor dog Roland Rae: What an earth? Kelly Jayne: Hope sunflower finds her happy place and forever, safe home soon.

£1M handout to fix town’s potholes. Cheshire East Council has been handed £1m to mend Macclesfield’s roads. We asked you where should they start? (website, March 29) Melanie Butson: They should start by fixing them properly the first time, not chucking a bit of tarmac in and hop- ing for the best, just to have the pothole open up within a week again two times before fixing it properly. It’s a waste of time (money) and costs (more money). Andy Clayton: Totally agree. Penny wise, pound foolish. Mick Greenall: Last Saturday morning at the top of Hurdsfield three Cheshire East workers and one wagon looking at one pot hole. Later on no workers, no truck but still one pot hole. How much did that all cost? Derek Machin: Sadly after the headlines the other month and reporting loads, of which many have been repaired, however several are now as bad as ever with big fist sized lumps of new tarmac flung out onto the surrounding road and pavement, e.g. drive towards town past Birtles, or the ‘new’ hole on Knutsford roundabout. As for actually in town itself, several other signs of patching over the last month now also failing. Oh and a friend has just had a broken spring diagnosed, so needs to replace as a pair, with Audi quoting over £600. Just needs to remember which pot hole it went ‘clunk’ on and thinking of trying to recover the costs from CEC, so that £1m won’t go far. Ruth Brown: Are they using the big filling machine that Lancashire are going to use? It reminded me of the dentist. Cleaning, drying and filling and smoothing. Supposedly 60 pot holes a day, rather than 20 filled manually. Steve Orme: Somewhere anywhere. Already cost me and countless others a tyre or two. Julie Thorp: Anywhere as long as they start actually doing it properly. Laura Hughes: There is just no pleasing people, [they] moan about the potholes then moan when they are going to do them. Trish Lewis: Barton Street, Hatton Street, (which took my exhaust pipe off!) or any street in Macclesfield, take your pick!! Richard Slater: Going toward the Broken Cross lights maybe? Kevin Lester Hunter: Commercial Road the full length caused by the council bin waggons. Martin Brook: Asking for more money. £1m isn’t nearly enough. Pretty much every road needs resurfacing! William Barnett: There’s one outside the footy ground. Ally Burrows: Nelson street has about 50 holes.

MACCLESFIELD beat Gateshead with late winner (website, March 28) David Westbury: Some of the best football seen on the Moss for 20 years. Mike Rogerson: More fans support the club from outside Macclesfield rather than Macc itself, too many prefer to watch the big boys rather than their local side. Peter Benjamin O’Neill: Could do with a few more people from Macc actually turning out to support the team though. Being in the position that they are, there should be far more than the 1,5001,800 people per game they’re getting. As well as additional support in the stands, it would give the club a much needed financial boost. It’s 20 years or more since there was such positivity at the Moss Rose, and I think it’s a real shame that more people from this town aren’t eager to participate and contribute to that atmosphere. Lee Dent: They only come out of the woodwork for Wembley trips. Jon Smart: The Premier League and Sky TV have created the lack of love for local sides! It’s the way it is now where people can kid themselves they support Barcelona or Man Utd from a distance. They don’t support them. They follow their results and if it’s on TV they watch it. It’s very different to supporting your local side or any side for that matter. Darren Moore: I’m always at Star Lane chanting so much I can’t talk next morning, but I don’t care, if it helps the boys get to the finishing line that’s all that counts. Ryan Michael Pollard: Loyal for 30 years.
