Team pedal to pounds in hospice appeal challenge

-

STAFF from a tech firm have put their metal to the test in the name of charity.

Team members from Macclesfield-based firm, Quint Group have raised a more than £2,700 after carrying out a virtual row and cycle.

All the money raised by this monumental effort will go to East Cheshire Hospice, Donna Louise Trust and Park Lane School.

The challenge saw the participants cycle from Macclesfield to Plymouth Rock, USA.

Mike Ransom, managing director of Quint, said: “We are extremely happy to be able to sup- port the local community in any we can.

“The East Cheshire Hospice and Donna Louise Children’s Hospice provide a wonderful service to families around the area and many of our staff have an affiliation with the charities in some way.

“Park Lane School is a specialist school for communication and interaction, catering for children and young people with severe learning difficulties. The money raised will help them to support their pupils with additional physical, sensory and medical difficulties.”

Earlier this year Quint was named 33 in the Sunday Times 100 best small companies to work for - seven places higher than in the previous year. The company was awarded the highest three star accolade, which celebrates their contribution and dedication, to culture, wellbeing, people and community.

And the Quint Group was also awarded with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2017.

Greg Cox, CEO of Quint Group, based on Oxford Road, said he was ‘incredibly’ proud and as the firm grows it has allowed him to increase their charity targets this year.

He said: “This year our charity target is higher than ever, with a goal to raise £10,000 for great causes right here in the North West.

“Since the Group launched Monevo.com in the US in early 2017, we have seen fantastic business growth and this has inspired our challenge for 2018.

“As Monevo is already Europe’s largest lending marketplace and platform, we now have our eyes fixed on the biggest prize of all.... the United States of America.

“I am incredibly proud of my team for taking on this challenge and to celebrate their achievement I will personally match fund any money raised at the end of the year.”
