As club’s first ever lady president

Karen Pennington and Sue Kendrick were the 2017 summer knock out winners at Alderley Edge and were chosen to represent the club in the national Daily Mail Foursomes.

In round one they were drawn to play away in a local derby at Styal.

They had an enjoyable game and were delighted to win on the 18th hole to make it through to the second round.

A Thursday Stableford at Shrigley Hall had Rod Scott in charge with 36 points taking him clear of Gill Kershaw 35 and Martin Hill 31 and Richard Burrow 29.

The March medal at Shrigley had a runway leader in division one with Roger White posting nett 72 to romp home from Eamon McGeady 76, Graeme Nimmo 78 and Rod Scott 79.

In division two scoring was tough with Steve Shanahan on top with 79 from Tim Wrigley 81 and Michael Gibbons 92.

A Sunday ‘Open to All’ Stableford at Styal was won by Helen Billington after a cpo on 34 points with Matthew Sutcliffe with David Jones four points off the pace.

Styal seniors were busy with two Winter League Stableford­s with a cpo on 35 points seeing Neil Cowan into top spot from Alan Beckett and Roger McCabe in the first competitio­n.

Alan Beckett kept up his good form in the second competitio­n topping the leaderboar­d with 40 points from the ever consistent Harry Reid 38 and Howard Dickson 35.
